Cortina d'Ampezzo co-hosts the 2026 Winter Olympics alongside Milan, and FFGR Italia is the only private operator with pre-approved Olympic Traffic Management credentials for unrestricted town-centre access. Beyond the Games, the Tofane domain, Cristallo resort, and Tivoli Michelin table make Cortina Italy's most complete luxury ski destination. This guide covers how we manage the full mandate.
Cortina d'Ampezzo | The 2026 Winter Olympics Host
Cortina d'Ampezzo (1,224m, Belluno province) co-hosts the 2026 Winter Olympics alongside Milan, the first Italian Winter Olympics since Turin 2006. The Olympic infrastructure has been extensively rebuilt: the Olimpia delle Tofane downhill run (women's speed events), the Sliding Centre on Ronco hill (bobsled, luge, skeleton), and the Athletes' Village in the town centre. Games run 6-22 February 2026.
FFGR Italia manages Olympic-period mandates: VIP access passes for competition venues, accommodation at Cristallo a Luxury Collection Resort (the flagship luxury hotel, 60 rooms, founded 1901), private transport corridors pre-approved with the Veneto Regional Olympic Committee, and post-race dinners at Tivoli (1 Michelin star, Via Lacedel 34, Chef Graziano Prest since 2003).
The Tofane Skiing Domain | 140km of Runs
The Dolomiti Superski circuit connects Cortina to 12 ski areas and 1,200km of runs. Cortina's own domain covers 140km across 3 ski areas: Tofane (Olympia run, 3,244m summit), Faloria-Cristallo, and Lagazuoi-5 Torri (preferred by advanced skiers for its unpisted variants). Off-piste at Lagazuoi requires a licensed guide, we provide dedicated mountain escorts.
The Olympia delle Tofane downhill course is open to recreational skiers on non-competition days (conditions permitting). Skiing it end-to-end: 2,470m vertical drop, 3.4km length: with a FFGR guide and a Rolls-Royce waiting at the base for immediate transfer to lunch is standard in our Cortina mandate.
Cristallo a Luxury Collection Resort
The Cristallo (Via Rinaldo Battaglini 42) opened in 1901 and was frequented by European aristocracy throughout the Belle Époque. The hotel sits at the base of the Faloria gondola with direct ski-in/ski-out access. 60 rooms and suites, the Presidential Suite with panoramic Dolomites view is 280m². Facilities: indoor pool, Aqua Spa, private ski storage with heated boot racks.
Alternative: Rosapetra Spa Resort (boutique, 30 suites, 5-minute walk from the Olimpia chairlift). For multi-family groups, we arrange exclusive use of Villa Mozart, a 19th-century private villa adjacent to the town centre with 7-bedroom layout and dedicated FFGR housekeeper service.
Tivoli | Michelin Dining at 1,400m
Ristorante Tivoli (Via Lacedel 34, 1 Michelin star since 2003) is the definitive Cortina dining address. Chef Graziano Prest's signature dishes include Dolomite beetroot risotto with local Asiago cheese, slow-cooked Belluno valley Angus brisket, and a dessert trolley with 40+ house-made pastries. The wine cellar holds 4,200 labels, particularly strong on Veneto and Alto Adige producers.
FFGR manages Tivoli reservations as part of the Cortina mandate. December and February (Olympic period) require 3-4 weeks advance. January and March can be arranged with 10 days. A private dining room for 12 is available on request.
Olympic Period Logistics | February 2026
During the 2026 Winter Olympics (6-22 February), Cortina operates under full Olympic Traffic Management: private vehicle circulation in the town centre is restricted to credentialed vehicles. FFGR Italia holds pre-approved operator status with the Veneto Regional Olympic Committee. Our fleet carries the required vignettes for unrestricted town-centre access and VIP competition venue drop-off rights.
Olympic-period accommodation (hotels booked to capacity 18 months in advance) is managed via our partner network, priority availability for clients who brief us early. Post-Games period (23 Feb-15 March 2026) offers optimal conditions: freshly groomed runs, post-Olympic infrastructure intact, and 30-40% lower accommodation rates.
