A Lake Como wedding looks effortless on Instagram. In reality, the four days surrounding the ceremony are the most logistically dense your guests will ever experience: 80–250 international VIPs, three lakeside venues across Bellagio, Tremezzo and Cernobbio, ferry timetables that don't accommodate Tom Ford tuxedos, and roads that go from one to two cars wide depending on the village. The Three-Airport Question
Lake Como sits 80 minutes from Milan Malpensa (MXP), 50 minutes from Bergamo Orio al Serio (BGY), and 90 minutes from Lugano private aviation (LUG). Most international guests fly into MXP. The 30 most important guests — parents, witnesses, the celebrant — usually fly private into Linate Prime or Lugano. Coordinating a 60-vehicle convoy from three airports converging on Cernobbio between 4pm Friday and 8pm Friday requires a single dispatch operator. We act as that operator.
Each guest receives a personalized arrival packet 72 hours pre-flight: their driver's photo, license plate, hotel address, the exact ferry time if applicable, and an emergency WhatsApp number. The bride and groom never field a single 'I just landed, what now?' call.
Villa Access — Where Cars Stop Mattering
Villa del Balbianello is accessible only by foot (1km uphill from Lenno) or by boat. Villa Pliniana is reachable by private water taxi only. Villa d'Este has road access but its driveway is private and operates on a strict NCC permit list maintained by the hotel security director — we are on it.
We coordinate the ground-to-water handoff at the public docks of Lenno and Cadenabbia, with vintage Riva Aquarama tenders for the bridal party and standard Riva 38 for guests. Luggage moves separately on a dedicated boat 30 minutes before the guests embark.
The Day-Of Convoy
On the wedding day itself, our typical setup at Villa Erba or Villa del Balbianello includes : 1 Rolls-Royce Phantom for the couple, 2 Mercedes S-Class for parents and witnesses, 1 Mercedes V-Class for the videographer team, 6–8 Mercedes V-Class for the photographer + grandparents + close family, and 4 Sprinter VIP shuttles operating in 20-minute loops between the village parking and the ceremony entrance.
All vehicles wear the same minimal floral arrangement — chosen by the wedding planner, installed by our drivers two hours before the ceremony. We don't compete with the planner; we deliver what they design.
The Logistics Most Couples Forget
Italian villa weddings end at midnight by law (Lombardy noise ordinance). Most guests do not realize this. We pre-book a midnight extraction protocol : eight V-Class queued discreetly outside the perimeter at 11:50pm, transferring guests to the after-party venue (typically the Concorso d'Eleganza terrace at Villa Erba, the Grand Hotel Tremezzo bar, or a tender to a chartered yacht).
Sunday brunch at Passalacqua, lunch at Il Sereno, day-after photoshoots at Villa Carlotta — every transfer is pre-mapped against the lake's brutally inflexible ferry schedule.
Booking & Lead Time
We accept Lake Como wedding mandates 6 to 18 months out. Inside 90 days, the Rolls-Royce Phantom is generally unavailable during May–September peak. The Bentley Bentayga EWB is the strongest fallback — same gravitas, more modern silhouette in the photographs.
