Italian airports in season are an exhaustion machine. Fiumicino in summer, Malpensa during fashion weeks, Naples in August — security queues that stretch 45 minutes, lost baggage, taxi mafias outside arrivals. For our VIP clients arriving on commercial flights, the goal is simple: be in the back of a Mercedes within 11 minutes of the wheels touching, with luggage. This is what real VIP airport fast-track delivers.
Aviazione Generale Terminals vs. VIP Lounges
Confusion to clear up: the "VIP terminal" you read about online is usually the general aviation FBO (Ciampino Prime, Linate Prime), reserved for private aviation. Most commercial first-class passengers cannot use it. What they can use is the dedicated VIP meet-and-greet service inside the commercial terminal — a separate fast-track lane through security, an escort to the lounge, and an apron-side car pickup at the gate.
In Rome Fiumicino, the official service is "VIP Tarmac & Discovery". In Milan Malpensa it is "VIP Lounge by Sea Group". Both require pre-booking 24+ hours in advance. We handle the booking and the on-the-ground coordination as a standard inclusion in our fast-track service.
Plane-Side Pickup — When It's Available
For arrivals in private aviation (Linate Prime, Ciampino Prime, Olbia, Naples GA), our drivers operate on the apron and meet the aircraft at the steps. No customs walk, no terminal building, no luggage carousel. Wheels-down to Mercedes: under 4 minutes.
For commercial first-class arrivals at Fiumicino and Malpensa, the equivalent is bus-side pickup: an airport-authorized vehicle escorts you from the gate (or jet bridge) to a private customs/passport channel, then to your waiting Mercedes inside the secured zone. Wheels-down to Mercedes: 11-15 minutes. We arrange this through the airport's official VIP service in advance — it cannot be booked walk-in.
Departures — The Reverse Process
On departure, the same fast-track lane skips check-in queues, security queues, and (for non-Schengen flights) passport queues. For commercial first-class clients we recommend arriving 50 minutes before international departure (vs. 2.5 hours standard). For private aviation departures from Linate Prime or Ciampino Prime, 25 minutes is enough.
Our drivers know the door-to-gate logistics of every airport we serve and pre-coordinate with the VIP service team to confirm your specific gate. No surprises, no last-minute terminal changes that strand you.
Naples, Olbia, Venice — Less Mature Markets
Outside Rome and Milan, VIP fast-track services exist but are less standardized. Naples (NAP) has the Sky Priority lane via business class on certain carriers; we supplement with our own staff at the gate. Olbia has VIP service only in summer. Venice Marco Polo runs a private water taxi service from the airport pier — the closest equivalent to plane-side pickup, since you skip the entire taxi mafia at the airport.
For each of these airports we deploy our own ground staff in addition to the airport-provided service, because the airport-provided service alone is often inconsistent in execution.
How to Book
Tell us your flight number, terminal, and confirmation number 24-48 hours before. We pre-book the airport VIP service, brief our driver on your gate, and confirm the meet point in writing the night before. On the morning of arrival, we monitor the flight in real time and adjust if you're delayed or rerouted.
Cost is fixed per arrival/departure (no surge for delays, no surcharge for late nights). The math: a 45-minute fast-track save on a 4-hour Italy stop turns the entire arrival from frustrating to forgettable. Most of our clients book this once and never travel commercial without it again.
